Hammeken Cellars, creating refined “New World” style wines from the “Old World”!

Founded in 1996 by Nicolas HAMMEKEN, Hammeken Cellar strives to introduce to the world grape varieties with deep roots in Spanish history, each with a very special history. Although we make wine with traditional Spanish grape varieties, especially grapes produced from Old Vines, we are always researching and working hard to create wine that is “a new Spain, a vibrant Spain, a Spain you want to know”, which is the winery’s unique concept. Hammeken Cellars is made up of a passionate and experienced team of 21 people, including 5 winemakers, sales representatives, logistics staff, marketing and designers, led by David Tofterup and Daniel Gimenez Alba, with a combined experience of over 75 years. David, the head winemaker, plays a big role in presenting various styles of wine based on his experience in winemaking in various terroirs in various countries such as Penedes in Spain, Haut-Medoc in France, Maipo in Chile, and Santa Barbara in the United States. A total of 15 DOs produce 24 wine brands across Spain, and we continue to develop wine styles with potential and launch wines that consumers want in line with changing trends. Currently, it is growing rapidly, exporting a total of 2 million cases annually through 22 countries including Europe, Oceania, America, and Asia.
