Les Vignobles Montagnac

Vignobles Montagnac Located in the historic center of Languedoc, Vignobles Montagnac has been producing wine since 1937, with 500 winegrowers from eight communities cultivating 2,000 hectares of vineyards.

Their wines were also exported to ancient Rome at that time, as evidenced by the MAF seal on an amphora at Villa Lupian, where ancient mosaics are displayed in a museum in the heart of the Montagnac vineyards. Winemakers have honored the traditions of the ancient wine heritage through the placement of monumental sculptures in the heart of the vineyards and the magnificent landscapes that can be discovered during visits to the winery cellars.

Since 2001, Les Vignobles Montagnac has been applying sustainable, controlled and qualitative growing principles to its 2,000 hectares of vineyards while respecting current environmental concepts. Montagnac winemakers constantly listen to their vineyards, with a team of technicians with extensive experience of the vineyard's terroir. The continuous training of technicians and oenologists in new growing methods and technologies allows us to provide grape growers with qualified advice in their constant quest for quality.

Location

Montagnac's vineyards are surrounded by limestone reliefs carved into deep canyons by the Etang de Thau to the south, famous for its oysters and the Mediterranean Sea, and to the north by the Hérault River. The vineyards stretch into the hills dominating the Hyero Valley south of Montpellier and the Mediterranean coast.

Terroir

The vineyards located on the slopes of Vignobles-Montagnac grapes are composed of traditional or noble grape varieties grown with respect for nature and their adaptation to the terroir. Montagnac's vineyards are made up of diverse soils that stretch from the edge of the Tau Lagoon to the Herault Valley. The entire vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate that is favorable for wine growing.
