Maison Sinnae
History
The story of Maison Sinnae begins on the plateau overlooking the villages of Laudun and Chusclan, on the right bank of the Rhône River. Nearly 2,000 years ago, the Romans introduced viticulture and wine culture to this land, and traces of their presence still remain today on the plateau known as “Caesar’s Camp.”
The modern roots of Maison Sinnae date back to the Laudun Winegrowers’ Cellar, founded in 1925, and the Chusclan Cellar, established in 1939. In 2008, the two cooperatives merged under the name Laudun Chusclan Vignerons, marking the beginning of a new era driven by innovation and adaptation to evolving environmental and market conditions. Since then, the winery has continuously developed through initiatives such as organic wine production, expansion of vineyard areas, and the opening of a dedicated white wine cellar.
In 2019, the cooperative adopted the name Maison Sinnae, establishing a more modern and approachable identity. In 2024, it further strengthened its connection with consumers through the opening of a wine tourism center. As Maison Sinnae celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025, it continues to preserve and share a century of history and terroir-driven values.
Philosophy & Vision
Maison Sinnae is more than simply a winery — it is a community built upon the spirit of cooperation. Respect for nature and the vineyards, pride in craftsmanship, and a strong sense of responsibility toward future generations are all reflected in each bottle, allowing every terroir to express its individuality with precision and authenticity.
Today, around 140 winegrowers carefully cultivate their own vineyard parcels, combining their passion and expertise to shape the balanced style and depth that define Maison Sinnae wines. The vineyards cover approximately 2,300 hectares, making them among the largest on the right bank of the Rhône Valley, with nearly 2,200 hectares classified under AOC appellations.
The diverse landscape — including stony slopes and ancient terraces — offers excellent drainage and ideal water balance, while the Mediterranean climate and the influence of the Mistral wind allow the grapes to ripen in healthy conditions. These natural elements contribute to the signature Maison Sinnae style, characterized by expressive aromatics and vibrant acidity.
In particular, the Laudun area has recently gained recognition as an independent Cru appellation within the Rhône Valley, highlighting the increasing importance of terroir-focused winemaking in the region and reinforcing the philosophy that Maison Sinnae has consistently pursued for decades.
Certifications & Recognition
Maison Sinnae places responsible viticulture and sustainable production at the heart of its philosophy. The winery prioritizes biodiversity and soil health by maintaining grass cover between vineyard rows, preserving low stone walls, and protecting natural hedgerows to support local ecosystems. These practices contribute to the long-term vitality of the vineyards, while harvest timing is carefully determined parcel by parcel to fully express the personality of each soil type and grape variety.
The winemaking process follows the same commitment to quality and precision from vineyard to bottle. In Laudun, a dedicated 3,000㎡ white wine cellar allows the winery to maximize freshness and finesse through low-temperature fermentation, lees aging, and precise temperature control. Red wines combine traditional fermentation methods with modern hygiene management systems to achieve balanced structure and elegance.
These efforts have resulted in internationally recognized certifications including BRC and IFS standards, as well as high-level CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) labels, officially recognizing Maison Sinnae’s commitment to balancing environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Built upon these foundations, Maison Sinnae continues to establish itself as a benchmark producer within the Rhône Valley while steadily strengthening its reputation and brand value across major international markets.
