History
: Located in Combai, in the province of Treviso, Veneto, Italy, Serre di Pederiva is a family-owned winery whose origins lie in the dedication to viticulture shared by the families of Camillo Pederiva and Rosa Mattiola.
In 1956, the Pederiva and Mattiola families purchased vineyards in the Combai area and began restoring previously neglected land. Following the marriage of Camillo and Rosa in 1958, the vineyards of the two families were united. Today, their two sons, Luca and Marco, continue the family legacy, combining traditional viticultural practices with modern techniques and innovative approaches.
The winery is situated on the steep hillsides at the foothills of the Belluno Pre-Alps, within the prestigious Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG production area. Due to the challenging slopes and limited accessibility for machinery, much of the vineyard work, from pruning to harvesting, is carried out by hand. Serre di Pederiva proudly describes this demanding approach as "Heroic Viticulture," reflecting its dedication to cultivating grapes in such challenging terrain.
Today, Serre di Pederiva continues to produce a diverse range of sparkling wines, including Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, while preserving its rich family traditions. Cal de Costa is one of the winery's brands, created to offer a broader selection of approachable and enjoyable wine styles.
