History
: S. Delafont is a wine producer and négociant based in the Languedoc region of southern France, dedicated to selecting and showcasing some of the finest estates and terroirs of the region. In addition to sourcing and distributing wines from respected châteaux across Languedoc, the house also produces its own wines using carefully selected, high-quality grapes.
The winery was founded by Samuel Delafont, who established the wine export company Vinipartner in 2000. Through years of working closely with winegrowers and winemakers in Languedoc, Samuel developed deep expertise in both commercial development and winemaking. Inspired by the region’s diversity and potential, he began creating his own wines, sourcing exceptional grapes and crafting distinctive blends designed to express a more refined and modern interpretation of Languedoc wines.
A key element of S. Delafont’s philosophy lies in blending and élevage. All wines are produced exclusively from grapes cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods. Fermentation and aging take place separately in stainless steel tanks and 300-liter French oak barrels before the wines are blended and bottled. This meticulous process allows the wines to achieve both richness and freshness, combining the complexity and texture of oak aging with the vibrant fruit character preserved through stainless steel vinification.
